A reduced competition for the Cornwall OTB leagues was run from January to May 2023. Camborne won the four team county league. The final of the Quickplay league (formerly 500 League) was played on 10/6/2023 between Camborne and Bude. The result a win for Camborne by 5 - 3.

We returned to the splendid setting of the Falmouth Hotel from 28 to 30 April 2023 for this year's Spring congress, incorporating the Cornwall championship (Emigrant Cup), Falmouth Cup and Penwith Cup. Thanks to organisers Rebecca and Colin Gardiner and controller John Constable, the congress ran smoothly throughout.
Open The outright winner and new Cornwall champion with 4/5 was 10 year old Rami Taleb (Truro), originally from Syria. Rami replaces GM Michael Adams (1973 shared with 2 others) as the youngest ever Cornwall champion.
Major (under 1900) Seven players tied for first place on 3½/5, including the joint winners of the Falmouth Cup: David Jenkins (Camborne), Eldon Vallejo (London) and Oliver Twentyman (Truro).
Minor (under 1600) The outright winner with 5/5 was Thomas Merchant (North Bristol). The Penwith Cup was shared by Chris Constable and Colin Gardiner.

This was a six round Swiss played played at the Parkhouse Centre, Bude. The rate of play was 25 minutes + 10 seconds per move increments. The winner was GM John Nunn with 6/6.

The 2022 World Seniors Championship took place from 11 to 26 November at Rimini, Italy. Congratulations are due to the new 65+ age group champion, GM John Nunn (Bude) who was the overall winner with a score of 9/11. 192 took part.
