Match Report

Congratulations to Devon for their emphatic victory. Well done Lloyd for achieving our sole win, and Jeremy, Ian, Colin and Andy for halving their games. A tough match - I know some were too close to call, and we fought hard against stern opposition. Nevertheless a very enjoyable day out - thanks to Jon Underwood and as always in Plymouth, Tony Tatam for his hard work setting everything up and providing refreshments.

Thanks to everyone for traveling and taking part. I'll be in touch when I have dates for our other A-team match v Somerset, and our under-1900 B-team matches. Dorset are not participating this year, after all.

Match Report

Cornwall were White on even boards.

A match of two halves? Boards one to six scored 1 point, boards seven to sixteen scored 7.5 points. Of course, as so often, scores don't tell the full story - Mark led from the top with a draw against the formidable Jack Rudd, and Tom's board 4 draw looked especially hard fought. Grant, Nigel, Colin and Mick brought home the full point. Ajna's half-point secured the team victory at the last. A special mention for David, who's opponent failed to materialise.

Please forgive the superficial summary - I didn't follow many of your games closely. I'm sure the full story would reveal many a thrilling twist and discombobulating turn.
