Fine contributions from Tom Hill, Colin Sellwood, Jeff Nicholas, James Galloway and Ian Renshaw with wins and Anthony Rundle, Ian Murray, Nigel Kirkman, Bryan Jones, Mick Hill and Philip Spargo who drrew their games.

Match Report
The A and B team results against Somerset were not the resounding defeats that the final scores might suggest. Despite the rating gap of more than 200 points on most boards, all the games were well fought and there were no early finishes.
Notable performances for the A team - victories for Mark Robertson on his debut, Ian Murray and Casper Hands. Draws for Gary Trudeau, Colin Sellwood and David Jenkins, whose opponent was very fortunate to survive. For the B team, Andy Beach led from the front with a win, Ian Renshaw held his opponent to a draw and Reuben Medhurst brought home a full point on his debut.
Thank you all for making the effort to brave the elements and take on such strong opposition. Your contributions are really very much appreciated - I know the stark score never tells the full story, and there will have been many near misses and cunning plans falling short of fruition.
Many thanks to Ian George for standing in for me in my absence.

Match Report
Mark Robertson and Jeremy Menadue scored convincing victories on the top two boards. Tom Hill and David Pemberton fought hard and managed to take advantage of their opponents' time trouble, both securing a full point. Ajna Fern, Mick Hill and Aaron Hands each overcame 300+ rating discrepencies to draw their games - no mean feat. From the little I saw of the other games, many looked close to call - I think we certainly gave Devon a lot to think about, it wasn't easy for them.
Again many thanks for your efforts.
