Alexander Alekhine v Aelred Horn

Simultaneous display (Bristol), 1936

Around the time of the great Nottingham tournament of 1936, won by Botvinnik and Capablanca, a number of the players gave a series of simultaneous displays all round the country. At the Bristol event Alekhine, who finished sixth in the tournament, met our future president, Aelred Horn, then a teacher in the city.
